The Quinta

Quinta do Griffo
On the slopes of the Sintra mountains, in the heart of its UNESCO-listed forest, Quinta do Griffo overlooks the Colares wine valley and the Atlantic Ocean. From its terraces, you can glimpse the village with its little chapel, modest houses lined along cobbled streets, and — on the horizon — the ocean. A unique setting: at the very center of Eugaria, yet set apart, with a panoramic view that lets you see everything without being seen.
The house, whose existence is recorded even before Lisbon’s great earthquake of 1755, is a former manor house adapted to modern comfort. Available year-round, it offers each guest the freedom to find their own rhythm: hiking in the forest, surfing on wild beaches, cultural visits in Sintra or Cascais, relaxing in the spa, or evenings by the piano and fireplace in winter.
The Griffo offers multiple living spaces: a grand salon, a smaller lounge, pianos, and fireplaces. Four double bedrooms (two with en-suites, and one designed with children or younger guests in mind) comfortably host families and groups of friends. Three full bathrooms — including a spa with jacuzzi, hammam, and tropical shower — as well as three additional WCs, complete the ensemble.
Outdoors, the park, true to Sintra’s bucolic spirit, invites you to wander. Fruit trees (grapefruit, apples…), aromatic herbs, and seasonal vegetables grow here — help yourself. The only real danger of this house? You may never want to leave.
